Notes on Leg Extension Method

Friction Lock Models
These are all models except those with an M in the model designation
Feature a friction lock or set screw to adjust height
Set screw has a large knurled knob for easy operation
Simply loosen the friction lock to extend leg and tighten to lock in place

Leg Notch Models
These are the models with LM or BRM in the designation
These legs are spring loaded and when the release button is depresses, they kick out to maximum height

Swivel Models
These are the models with S in the designation
Hinged base has tension adjustment and buffer springs to eliminate tremor or looseness
Available for all models except H models

Harris Bipods are ultralight and lightning quick. Folding legs have completely adjustible spring-return etentions except for Model BRM and LM. The sling swivel attaches to the clamp. Series S Bipods rotate to either side for instant leveling on uneven ground. Hinged base has tension adjustment and buffer springs to eliminate tremor or looseness in crotch area of the Bipod. They are otherwise similar to non-rotating Series 1A2.

Harris Ultra-light Bipod Model 1A2-BRM, Fixed base, Folding notched legs extend from 6" to 9", sling stud mount.

You would have to say that Harris Bi-pods are probably the best bi-pods available to the sporting shooter today.  The bi-pods are quick detachable and clamp to the QD stud of most bolt action rifles of conventional stock design.  They will fit some single shot rifles and pistols and others with proper adapters which Harris also manufacture.  Harris bi-pods are not suitable for all firearms. 

The Bi-pod pictured is the BRM model which is the lowest of the bi-pods and probably most useful for shooting off a bench, which would give you a height of between 6” and 9”.  This version also has the notched legs, which means on uneven ground you’re able to pull the leg out ½” at a time, improving the stability and sight picture.
